Have you tried all the door latches on the body work. One might be loose?

No,not tryed that.
is there a modular that has something to do with the central locking, behind the dash that could be at fault??

I had this. Checked all the sensors were working and all good. Turned out a rear door lock was missing a screw and wasn't connecting with the clip on the body correctly as it was moving.

At least the sensors did there job and let me know something was wrong so worth checking at least.

So this is the bit that was causing the sensor to go off on mine. 1 screw was missing and the other 2 were loose so it was rattling around tripping the sensor intermittently. Everything is worth looking at before delving into wiring and the dash.

Keyless Entry control module - JDM STi revisions A to E P/N# 88035FE111 (sits to right of steering column)

The following, although not JDM, may give you or your autoelectrician a clue (no double lock module fitted to JDM).

I'd still put it down to one of these

Which would seem to suggest a door switch or door switch wiring.
