Default New battery fitment problem

Hi, I have a 1995 GC8 Impreza got a new battery to fit on the car a 005 battery 22.5cm high, yet the battery brackets don't seem long enough to fit the battery am I missing something here as looked lots on google and not seen any other issues with people is it because my car is early model and they had smaller battery ? any help much app.

Im sure we had the other week, I thought the 027 was the battery.

Ok thanks I'm off back to the motor parts shop later il see what size they are

if you go on Euro car parts you can see the sizes.

Had 005 in my blobeye maybe classic is different

I can also confirm that 005 is the correct battery type for a classic (mine's an MY96 UK turbo). I've got a spare on charge in the kitchen right now. so didn't have to go far to check.

OEM battery codes are shown here and a 005 is equivalent to the 65D23L

Are you sure you are hooking the ends of the fixing rods in the correct location??

I had to get a 027 in the end, its not as tall as the 005 but the 005 would not fit in mine had the brackets in correct position, it fits great anyway so not sure, thanks for everyone's help
