Default Blobeye Airbag Light Reset

Good day, this is my first post on the forum. I have tried searching and the advanced search and a google search and cant find the answer I'm looking for.

I bought a 54 plate blobeye WRX wagon a few weeks ago. It was a Cat C write off. I have replaced the airbags and the pretensioners and the airbag ecu and I have started the car at least half a dozen times since and the airbag light is still on.

Anyone have any ideas how to get the light off?

I have seen a video on you tube that suggests there is a 6 pin diagnostics port behind the dash board fuse box and a couple of pins you could jab into it to get it to flash fault codes then reset the light but I can't find the plug or the pins for the life of me. Well I found a plug and a couple of pins but they just didn't look right so I didn't have a poke about with it.

Any suggestions would be gladly appreciated.

yeh there should be a black connector on it but if the airbags have been fired I believe you need the module reset/replaced to clear that fault.

Cheers mate, might have another hunt for that connector tomorrow then.

I have replaced the air bag ecu/module so can't see that being the issue as it came from a car where they hadn't deployed.

Looks like this:

Instructions to diagnose :
Ignition on (don't start)
Bridge terminal 1 with earth
Count flashes/note codes

Once the codes are sorted it should self clear, if not then ignition on and bridge #1 to earth. When the light is flashing bridge #2 to earth and count slowly for 3 seconds. The lamp will start to steady flash on/off.
Ignition off and remove the earths and that should be you done.

Cheers mate, that's absolutely brilliant. I think my plug might be the wrong colour (white not black) judging by the shape of the 2 pins hanging behind it which are green on my car.

TBH it i's just bridge to earth I'll do it with some cable to an earth point rather than faff with making sure I'm plugging the right wire in.

aye there will be 2 pins taped up on the connector loom but you can use any old earth, it's just handy to make sure you have the right connector as it has the two spare wires on it.

The white block near the two greens could also be the ECU flash block but it would have only 3 or 4 pins on it so should easy to distinguish.

I really can't find the black plug. Completely stumped.

I'd found the white 4 pin one and the 2 greens that clip together and make the engine fan go daft but I just couldn't for the life of me find the black 4+2 one. Even tried feeling about through the taped up loom to see if I could get the plug but I just can't find it.

Gonna need to pay someone to do it which is really annoying as I've replaced the whole system myself and just can't reset the light.
