Default Vauxhall specialist Northwest?

Got a fault on my 09 plate Insignia with the AFLs.

Took it to Vauxhall and they said it needs a new light and control unit.

The fault is random, the lights can work perfectly for days, or not work at all for weeks. When the lights are turned on they dance without issue every time, so I know the highlights actually work.

I'd like someone who knows something about these lights to take a look and see what needs to be done. If bits need replacing I've no doubt an independent would be cheaper than Vauxhall too.

Anyone?

You'd need someone with access to a Tech3 diagnostic system. You can get clones on eBay but I don't know if they're any good. Have you been on the insignia forums? They're pretty good.

Ask around on the forums and try and get in touch with the total vauxhall magazine

Looked on the insignia forms there myself (I also have one) and the AFL seems to be a huge problem. Most people need 2 new headlights and a control unit at a cost of a couple of grand. Those same people have tortured Vauxhall at higher levels and have got a lot of the cost covered by VX. It appears headlights and related parts are excluded from warranty.

It's something to do with the CANBUS comms not working between the units.

I've been in touch with the CEO team and they have officially told me to go **** myself.

That's not good! Did you have a look on the insignia forum? There's a guy on there (Martyn I think) who's right in to the electrical side of Vauxhalls, maybe he can help.
