Default All lights except 'dipped beam' working on Blobeye

Hi all I have been searching an searching for an answer to this problem.
I switched my lights on as normal the other morning and they came on for a second and went off again with a bit of a 'ping' I have checked all fuses and relays and all are ok. Searching the forums I'm finding that it is most likely an issue with the stalk itself. All the threads seem to end at this point and I've no idea where to go from here. Can any body help. Thanks for reading and for any help

[QUOTE=pete marshall;11519730]check bulbs tried to edit adding that I have checked bulbs with test lamps. Had all the cowling off an can't see any burnt or broken wires. Stumped.

How do you check a bulb with a test lamp?

So all the bulbs/fuses/relays are ok? But the lights don't come in from the switch on the stalk? Have you checked the parking light switch on the steering cowel still works?

Ok, you've had your little spat....
Test lamp? Or multi-meter?

I'm trying to GIVE help here....

Bulbs AND blade fuses need checking for continuity with a decent multimeter.

As do relays. Then use either the meter, or a live tester to check for lives being where they should be. After that, do the same with the multimeter for earths.

I was told they were yes but i may need to try Again with someone else. The parking light switch still works and I've tried a different stalk complete and still same problem.

when you say checked fuses, did you check the ones behind the little coin tray or just the ones under the bonnet ?

Checked the ones under the bonnet (numbers 9 and 10, headlight right and left) ok plus
main beam is still working. Checked behind coin tray but in my manual it doesn't seem to identify any of them as being for the dipped beam. Unless I'm not seeing the wood for the trees. There appears to be a set of relays that aren't easily accessible behind the coin tray area aswell but can't seem to find out what they are for exactly.

It turned out to be the bulbs after all this. Even tho they looked perfectly intact they were blown. The guy that tested them some days ago hadn't done it correctly. There's a moral of a story in here somewhere. Thanks for all the replys.

LOL.

Should be first check...either a multimeter, or with a bit of wire across the battery.
