Default Coolant sensor

Hi I'm new to here and subaru , my 2002 wrx struggles to start when warm and has the main coolant fan running constant , took it to my local garage and it was throwing the coolant sensor code up , had this replaced and code cleared but within 3secs it threw the code up again and main fan constant , the sensor removed doesn't look that old either so I presume the previous owner had the same issue , any help would be gladly welcome , cheers Paul ..

If the car starts ok when cold but struggles when warm def sounds like a temp sensor problem and if that's been changed could be the wiring to it.

Have you checked that the connections on the plug for the temp sensor are ok?.

Glad it's sorted - I'm seeing a fair number of worn out engine looms at the moment as the wires do go brittle - your loom is 12 years old, and classics are anything up to 20 years old now

I've now started to remake these using the original connector housings but all-new wire, sleeving, terminals and seals, if anyone's interested.

Depends on whether any connector housings need replacement - usually a few are broken, but ballpark is around £400.
