brocks shows us how till clean a car
i was meant till get this up last night for him but by time i got home it was about half 12 and he took 96 photos which i had till sort out. This is the write up he wrote all i did was sort the pictures out for him, as it was dark and the garage we were in was not ideal for taking pictures the quality is not great but you can def see the difference and anybody that called in will vouch that he did an awesome job
Well folks as you are all aware, today I decided to get the scoob sorted for winter.........
The car as it arrived this morning
Day started at about 1100am, when I arrived at Cars n Stuff in Antrim, bit later than expected but hey it was gonna be a long day anyway......
General
Started of by washing the car using Meguiars NXT Tech Wash, and a Meguiars lambswool wash mit, and was assisted by the use of Normans Karcher heated pressure washer....a quick dry off and I moved the car indoors onto the four post ramp......
Wheels and Arches
I then removed all four wheels and took them back outside where they were cleaned front and rear using Autoglym alloy cleaner, and a seperate Meguiars wash mit, before drying them off and starting to clay them with Meguiars Quick Clay and Detailer.....Once cleaned and dried, a coat of Poorboys Alloy Wheel Sealant was liberally applied and they were coated with Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel and put to the side to rest.........
The wheel arches were then cleaned and dressed using a stone chip guard product, and dressed using Finish, a non silicon based product which restores the black trim inside the arches. The mudflaps were also treated to some Bondauto tar remover then dressed with Finish.
Bodywork
I then moved onto the car, and all the grooves etc were blown through with a high pressure air line and the car was then completely clayed using Meguiars Quick Detailer as a lube and the infamous Meguiars clay bar to prep the car for the Porter Cable..........
I then started with the Porter cable and a Sonus Swirlbuster pad with Poorboys SSR fine cutting compound, but this was not correcting the paint to the corretc standard and so I changed to and Orange Lake Country pad and the reliable Menzerna compound.....this combination was superb, and after a few hours, the complete car had been de swirled.
A layer of Sonus Final Finish was then applied with a black Lake Country pad, and removed with microfibre cloths.
The glass was then cleaned using Meguiars Glass cleaner, and the exhaust sorted using , you guessed it, Meguiars NXT Metal Polish....A quick check under the bonnet, and a quick dressing with Finish was all that was required due to the engine having been steam cleaned at the start of the day........
The final stage was to apply a layer of Chemicla Guys XXX Hardcore paste wax, which was applied and removed by hand using Meguiars pads and microfibres.
As you can see from these pictures you can make out the swirl marks these are alot more visable when you see the car in the flesh before brocks has started with the paint care tretment. The swirls are basically fine scathes in the top layer (lacquer) The light reflects of these and and deflects all directions showing them up and not giving the paint a true shine
Interior
The interior mats were cleaned using a wet/dry vacuum, which turned out to be a wet/wet vacuum, but brought up the STI stitching and got rid of the muddy marks, and the dash was treated to a coat of Meguiars Quick Dash...........
All in all a long day, but VERY rewarding. The hardest part was driving the car out onto a wet road knowing the work was somewhat in vain, but glad there was a bit of paint protection for the near future applied.......
I would just like to thank all those who turned up to show their support and interest.....but especially to Norman who yet again gave up his workshop space, and coffee for us all yet again, and to Neill, for halping out with the final push to get the car finished and for hosting these pics as you can see....
I am now officially fcuked and am going to bed LOL
Now hear is the finished result
this has till be my favourit pic of the whole lot of them the paint is that highly polished it just looks like a miror

lovely mate really great job. i know how much hard work went in to this as you are as picky as me. The down sides to this hard work is the time it takes, up sides is a cracking finish on the paint, bulging bi-ceps and 16,000 calories burnt so its all good.

Wow, don't think I have ever seen anyone clean a car to that level of detail
u are making me feel like a bad father now to my poor Subaru sitting out in the cold garage covered in grime.......you have motivated me to do something about it now......I think or maybe I should just watch that film first....

Looks great.
Only worry is how long it'll stay that way in this weather?
Thing is I suppose I really need a lesson on what products to use.
Cleaning my car is not one of my strong points i'm afraid.
Dare I say I wash it using a sponge, and dry with an autoglym synthetic chamois
I do use zymol car shampoo though?
