Default reliable - cheapest - super unleaded supplier?

As fuel prices continue to climb I am finding that an inordinate % of my wages is going on fuel - Though I am using BP Ultimate

I've decided its time to actively seek out the cheapest super ul supplier I can find. But not to the point where you suspect the fuel is not proper 97r.

I'm aware of the "Moyola" on the Antrim Road G/Gormley who have 1 super pump and are the cheapest I can find. However after a few fills I am not convinced that its good stuff - I'm only going on the feel of the car here.

Where have you guys found to be your reliable supplier of the cheapest super unleaded you use regularly. I'm looking for a garage in the Newtownabbey or Belfast city area in particular.

Free UK fuel prices. 11,108 petrol stations covered - PetrolPrices.com try here. The Texaco on the road between Antrim and Ballymena was doing SUL @ 113.9/L and it was good stuff, plenty of bangs and pops with it and the car pulled really well.

The stuff is hard enough to come by in general.

I myself use Sainsburys - car is mapped by Andy Forrest on this fuel also and he seemed to think it was alright stuff.

That site "petrolprices.com" is pretty good. thks for tip. though the Moyola on Antrim road g/gormely doesnt come up and its cheaper than all listed. though as I say I dont trust the fuel but I dont have a knocklink installed to confirm my suspicions - just the biosensors.

It did report Sainsburys west belfast (Falls Road) as one of the cheapest in the city area. They are probably trustworthy.

Would any of you guys continue to pay the extra for BP Ultimate? (Bout £2.60-£3 per fill)

Lets face it, that £2.60 will likely barely get you 20 miles. So by the time you've driven to belfast and back for the cheaper fuel, you've already used that amount of fuel.

Unless you're actually passing any given petrol station with cheap fuel, money wise, you may as well just fill up wherever is handy, then enjoy using that precious fuel elsewhere.

Fair point too - but I guess travelling to specific places for cheaper fuel is just "habit"
I always use Sinsburys at Holywood Exchange, but thats on my route to/from work.

As Stevie posted the "savings" won't get you far

I work up the Springfield Road so I'm going to start using the Sainsburys on the Falls as its not too far out of my way.

Interested to hear some say the scoobs actually prefer this to BP Ultimate?! Mine has been running fine on BP U'.

Living in N/Abbey there is nothing that isn't so far out of your way as to offset any benefit you may gain by travelling there.

Come to think of it I could save more by ordering 1 less starter from the local chinkies on a Fri night!
