Default Newage STI Clutch

Guys,

Any thoughts?

https://www.scoobynet.com/drivetrain...ti-clutch.html

I did try hard acceleration on the way home last night in 2nd, 3rd, 4th from 4K to 6K.
Its definately not slipping.

Cheers,

Shaun

Clutch fluid level / quality / bleeding

Also theres a spring on the clutch lever ( under the intercooler ) I had to replace mine as it had become stretched

As for the squeek possible just needs a bit of wd40 on the linkage at the pedal

WD40 should not be used. WD40 will lubricate for a short time, but also wash off any other lubricants that might be there.

Spray white or silicone type greases are better.

If there isnt a bleeding or return spring problem, then biting point moving substantially, is a good sign that its only a matter of time before it starts to go.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll get it looked at.

How long should an STI clutch last roughly?
I know - depends how its driven.
Put it this way, it doesn't get launched at 5K etc.
Car get driven with a mix of spirited driving together with just driving along.

Absolutely impossible to give an answer to that.

Some drivers are terrible, and slip the clutch all the time. So they could easily fry a clutch in a few thousand miles, just from driving badly, not abusively.

Other very good drivers, could see 100k from a clutch with normal, and some enthusiastic driving.

Mine lasted 50k - started slipping in high gears 5th/6th first
I didn't own the car for the first 22k of this so no idea how much
abuse it took then - the friction plate was just about down to the rivets!
Suprised me as its the first car I've ever had to put a clutch in
