Davy, this may already be in hand, I have been speaking with the admin team here on scoobynet and am getting stuff arranged to make several "sticky" threads for the subjects raised by Scubbay, Ulsterscoob and others over recent weeks..........
You may have noticed that I have been upgraded to moderator status, and am just awaiting certain net privileges to be activated to allow me to make the threads as discussed.......Dont get me wrong, I dont really want the responsibility of being a site moderator, but its a trial thing for a few weeks to see if we can get the NI section back on track and a bit of housekeeping done without bothering the main admin team whilst they are in the middle of the acquisition etc......
Watch this space for the spring cleaning beginning soon LOL

I have the perfect URL for a forum should there be enough interest in a seperate forum for N.I users and a few sensible people to moderate it cause I just don't have the time

I dont know what way to go on this one guys and girls. Would like to see the outcome of Scotts admin rights to get the stickys etc running. I feel that if we got to fine tune the "Ireland / Northern Ireland" regional forum section, there would be more recognition at events if displaying under the Scoobynet site. If it doesnt seem to get get any better, well, theres only one thing to do.
There is a plethora of knowlegde on here and the forum capabilities are very good.
Will wait and see.

Some good points made above which I hadn't considered to be honest. Just pitching the idea out there to gauge opinion. If we get some local admins set up on the forum here that would be great, allowing some better structure to the Ireland section, and a bit of a tidy up. From reading though some posts and the responses I gathered that there were no plans to change the format of the Ireland section, so it seems I was wrong.
For now lets see what happens I have neither the intention, resource or experience to try to rival Scoobynet, I think everyone here has confidence in Brocks, Ulsterscooby and others doing a good job for us when promoted to admins or mods, yesterday was a crap day so I prototyped a forum based on what was stated in other posts as requirements, it seems that Scubbay has had similar thoughts. It would be a bad thing to divide opinion in this section because it does work well, as has been said it just needs tweeking. Should be easily moderated, as I can only recall two 'fall outs' in my 2.5 years of membership.
Possibly no bad thing to have a plan B on standby though, and wasn't a waste of my time as I leart a few 'geeky' IT things from it - yawn!!!

Have only got a few privileges at present and have PM'd Webmaster to get the "sticky" power etc to try and get this section sorted guys

what about
www.scoobynetNI.com or www.NIscoobynet.com
hosted on the scoobynet server and with the same layout as the main forum but run and moderated by local members
the webmaster would still have full control over the site and we would all still remain as part of scoobynet
