Question 1998 WRX STi 5 Door fair price?

Hi all,

I'm looking to sell my Impreza to buy a Merc 4.3 V8 thats come up at very good money.

Before I commit to advertising in Autotrader, what sort of money do you's reckon is a fair price for the Impreza? Just for an idea.

Its a 98 WRX STi 5 Door, near perfect interior.
Approx 38K on the clock
Sony MP3 CD Player (near new) and Vibe CBR12 Active sub in the boot
(Original Stereo will also go with the car should new buyer wish to refit).
18" alloy's all with good tyres
Freshly full serviced including front brakes
Engine almost immaculate and running -perfect-
Has an induction kit fitted but original airbox and nearly new filter supplied also with sale.
Laserline alarm pack fitted (Shock/Immobilier/Keyless Entry etc)

The only downside to the car is that the bodywork (whilst not rusting) needs a bit of attention. The front bumper has a crack on the bottom and the sideskirts need repainted.

I've been told previously that the car is worth about £7k due to low mileage and general condition of everything else. But coz of the bits of bodywork, I'm thinking £6k is more appropriate.

I'll get photos up this weekend for a better idea, and then get it into Autotrader in a week or two.

So, what do ya's reckon about the cost? Just interested in your thoughts.

Bumper and skirts repaired and resprayed approx £250 remove the aftermarket ice and induction kit, sell it to pay for the painting then ask for 6500

I bought a 99 Sti V5 wagon a couple of weeks ago with 70k on the clock with full rebuild 4000 miles with forged pistons, ACL race bearings and STi 9 crank only and tonnes of other sensible mods for £5500. Immaculate inside and out and a bucket load of history. I spent a long time looking for one like this, but found loads of **** heaps for more money. I would get the bits of body work repaired and stick it up for 6k.

Best of luck with the sale.

Ulsterscooby - Selling ICE and Induction kit....VERY good plan in fact! I should easily get around £300 for the lot, and that will more than pay for the we painting bits!

Very very good plan!

Cheers guys. Appreciate the feedback.
