Any ideas....??
Right ive a quick query (well hopefully)
When the cars idleing (However its spelt) sounds like a rattle of some sort coming from under the bonnet, after a few seconds it dies off but then as ya let the clutch out and accelerate you can hear it slightly louder (if your a fan of 24 or have ever saw it, it sounds like the telephone ring but not as long in duration lol)
The rev's can also drop down to near 0 sometimes when the clutch is pressed, this happened on my old clio, however the clio was conk out completly (the scooby doesnt it picks itsself up again after a short shudder). I had the spark plugs and ignition leads changed on the clio an it solved the problem...could this be the same??
Anybody any ideas?
Cheers

U will just have 2 eliminate some things m8,
Wat condition is ur engine oil? If it is of poor this could cause the rattle on tick over, along with other things of course but this is probably the easiest 4 u 2 check. Rattles in the engine should b checked out asap.
Try changin the leads/sparks even 1 bad lead will cause bad tickover but when u put the foot down the spark can travel ok. Failin that try ur ignition pack.
Do u have an in-line fuel filter fitted? If not it wouldnt hurt 2 fit 1, couple of quid, diy fitment. Dirty fuel can cause this sort of problem also.
Hope u get her fixed

oh dear
sounds mad but go and have a look under the bonnet in the dark and see if the leads are breaking down at all.youl see the sparks buzzing about .
is the clutch working ok...it wouldnt be the first sport in the world to do a clutch bearing in and when you press the pedal in the rattle goes away....

rite colin
sorted..poss.have you a cat on the car...if you have the inards may have broken up and as they rattle about its blocking your pipe up causing the revs to drop of.give it a knock or a shake and see if its in bits inside..worth a try

I think it sounds like a spark plug problem for the idling issue
As for the rattle check for loose pipe clips / fuel filter bracket air box fixings and that nothing has been dropped onto the top of the engine spanner etc
Take it back to where it was serviced ive already mentioned it to Norman and he said to bring it down after the weekend
