Default Exhaust advice

I have a 2002 STI type UK. Anyone got any advice? I like what TSL have to offer with the Pulse extraction exhaust system. But it really is very costly. Wondering if anyone has any alternatives costing slightly less?

I like the idea of being able to have a performance system but also being able to pass mot without hassle. I am not a mechanic which means every time i mot i have to pay people money that i would rather put into the tank.

All ideas/advice are greatly appreciated

hard to know, there's that many but there seem to be a lot using the milltek system with good results with no worries about mot.or you could try a prodrive ppp cat with any of the many 2.5 systems, thats what i did but to be honest if i was to do it again i'd go for a de-cat 3" ggr downpipe + revolution 3" system which would leave options open for later power up grades"i.e. 18g/20g turbo etc".this would most likely work out the best £ per bhp posible but like you said a pain when mot comes round......i guess the milltek is going to be up there

18g, and perhaps even a 20g would not be a huge upgrade on an STI like that.

Milltek, Janspeed, Magnex etc etc all make good exhausts. A lot of it is simply down to choice.

3" would be preferred though, especially if intending to tune the car further.

Go for the pulse extraction DAZ i would love to try one myself.

Andy forrest wrote an article stating that the three inch pipe didnt give the car any great difference in power but that the car produced the same power with less effort / stress than using a 2.5 inch system, which could only be a good thing.

Is the pulse extraction system a full 3inch Im sure with a bigger turbo you would be better with a 3inch system to make the most of it

The Pulse is awesome and is a full 3" system. Was on the phone to TSL yesterday and they say that they normally dont sell the exhaust without installing it themselves and mapping the car to suit the difference in flow.

The system will work out about £1200 inc vat, but if i choose to let them tune my scoob, i can have the tsl333 pack for £1900. This means i get the pulse exhaust, remap, upgraded fuel pump, air filter and install. Looks like it might be a trip to Nottingham. Also they do live mapping on the road. This would give real driveability. I really don't give a toss about the figures as long as the car is set up to suit my driving style and to give me lots and lots of thrills.

Might be £1900 well spent???? Or shout i buy a cheap 2.5 wrx and tune the noods out of it? Nah, love the ugly bug too much!

I would go for the TSL package on your own car without a doubt
