I see that an autograss ( oval racing on grass with clubs in Cork, Carlow, Waterford, Down, Causeway coast) driver has built a RWD Saxo with an impreza turbo engine over the rear wheels. It should go well but it's up against the twin motorbike engined cars and supercharged V8's..
Does anyone else know of any other interesting subaru engine transplants ??

Something I always wanted to to was fit a impreza turbo running gear into a westfield/caterham type car . All that grip with an awesome power to weight ratio would make an excellent track day car . Oh well , I can always dream . Has anybody heard of someone building a 4wd caterham 7 type vehicle ? Whenever I get my next car I was thinking of keeping the legacy as it will be worth SFA , building a frame , fitting the legacy running gear into it and using it for stock car racing as my trusty 309GTI is getting a bit shagged .

Why not buy a bike engine and fit it to a frame (revs to 12,000 rpm plus, 6 speed sequential box etc.) and revolutionise stock car racing. Bike engines are cheap and autograssers have been using them for years

The problem is that although the engine is cheap you still have to buy a box to give you a reverse and all the rest like driveshafts , suspension , hubs , etc. which you already have if you use a car as a doner vehicle . Besides I want to use a scooby - I just can't get enough of that exhaust note !
