scoobynewboy,

Have a cousin with a WRX, who has got Jimmy Gormley to do some work on his car - new clutch. Had one or two sensors & coil packs that gave trouble & J. Gormley was nothing but helpful over the phone & in person - sending on coil/sensor & giving advice over the phone.

Think the only complaint if even you could call it that was time - when he'd get the car back - but then dont think it's his main source of ££ & so does work on cars when time provides - also seems to have a good following of customers. Dont know myself - but cousin would agree with you.

Johny.

Edited to add - he did advise AGAINST chipping & PROCLAIMED sensible use of fuel - i.e. SUL, Octane Booster etc.

Sorry to hear that mate.
There is a guy that i have used before called Jimmy Gormley who is fantastic. He lives close to Beragh in Tyrone. Last time i was there there were 3 Scoob's with blown engines. He does a lot of work on Impreza Rally cars and he is not too hard to pay either. You can mail me per profile for his details if interested.

No wonder Gormley has so many scoobs with blown engines. This is because he is agent for Supercraps (sorry Superchips) which he fits to scoobs.

Scoob + Superchips = blown engines

Sounds like somebody called McPricker who also sells dodgy chips, and not the tasty kind.
He rebuilt a box for me, and it was a terrible job. Notchy changes, and the diff was whining like mad.
Give Michael a call, he is easy to pay, and can be trusted.

Oooops, experiences differ i suppose...
My last car had a similar problem ( STI 3 ). Mr. Gormley did advise against chipping Imports so this and the work he did for me led me to reccomend him. I have also spoken to others who reccomend him very highly.

JMCA,

I agree mate, had the same small problem myself. He needed a little encouragement at best. Be careful though lads, there are a lot of cowboys out there. I have met some of them in the past to my misfortune. Again i have no hesitation in reccomending Mr.Gormley as i feel he is extreemely helpful at all times. Its only a phone call afterall for anyone who is in the vicinity whom may be requiring the services of such a person. If you dont like what you hear or see then no harm done......
