Shopping around at the moment.Tried all of the above and can't get a 'decent' quote.
Anyone else care to tell me who you're insured with?
I'm with Endsleigh. Renewal quote up 40% on last year

I was expecting an increase, but not 40%!
could live with 18.5% if I could get it.
Still shopping......

Endsleigh have been great for me 3 years running, I was to be insured with (prestige)HSBC and all was agreed until I got them to recheck that they had the correct spec fo my new car................ "Prodrive style,?????????............Prodrive what?????????..........Oh I see it has a body kit!!!!!!!! Oh thats OK!!!!!!!! .............we simply won't insure you!!!!!!

Took me three or 4 attempts through the broker to clarify this through 2 different brokers.

I eventually had to go back and say to abbey that I had been in direct contact with HSBC and they would not insure the car (abbey were still quoting, what was a very good price but completely irrelevant)

So go back and check HSBC want nothing to do with even slight mods.!!!!!

I phoned up my insurance company a couple of days ago and got a quote of an extra £240 on top of the £700 I'm paying now for my V6 Audi to cover me till next July. That should be about £1000 for the year. I'm not sure if they will take on extra customers from here anymore but give them a call.

In relation to achieving insurance in Northern Ireland what information do you need to supply. I know the car and previous insurance details. Anything else?. I am thinking of purchasing a 2ltr sport but dont know where to go. Im living in the republic but moving to Co fermanagh soon and need to know where to go before i move. Do they require anything else?.
Thanks

I think they ask if you've been resident in the UK and hold a full UK licence. Don't know what it means if you say no.
Other than that it's the usual s*it...personal details,NCB,accidents/claims etc......
Good luck.

Try www.elephant.co.uk... I am starting to think they might have a bug in their quotation system and they always quote me approx half of my second cheapest quote. This has been the case for a Scoob, a BMW 523 and a Pug 106 over the past 2 years. No probs when it comes to claims either. Scoob was stolen, BM was run off the road and the Pug ran into the back of someone, entirely of its own accord when the better half was driving. They were all sorted in a few days and the premiums haven't gone up that much given that the three claims happened in a period of 9 months

They're not good for everyone... the last time I tried elephant they were looking over £3K for a Standard UK Impreza turbo...

Although I have heard that they are decent when it comes to claims etc. But they'd wanna be for that money ;-)
