Default New gauges for the Hawk :o)

So been looking at the various gauge options, I'd saved a big wad of cash fixing my own gearbox last weekend so decided now was the time to sort out the gauge situation.

There's lots to choose from, clearly Defi are the benchmark and there's a lot of crap about but in the end I ended up going for the 60mm clear face Shadow Pro Series II from Alleymotorsport, more details here:

http://www.shadowpro.co.uk/gauge_features.html

I reckon these are probably the next best thing to Defi's, lots of features, peak recording, warning, 12 setting brightness adjust, two colour switching, 3240 step motor and so on.... and with a discount code for the boost, oil pressure and oil temp for £260 delivered. First thing you notice when opening is the quality of everything, the gauges seem very very well made and all the wiring, sensors, holders and bits and bobs just ooze quality so I think for the price they're a really good buy.

So I needed a gauge pod next and again spent a lot of time looking at the options. I was not prepared to spend £140 on a piece of plastic, Defi or not and ended up taking a chance on an Ebay one for £55 delivered from Tiawan!

Honestly... probably the best thing I've ever bought on Ebay for any car. The fit and finish is outstanding, so well made and came in 6 days extremely well packaged. I like that it's carbon on the top only so not too blingy which I like.

Anyway a few pics, they're only wired into power at the moment but will get them done properly on Tuesday when I'm off next.

Looking good.

Couple of questions mate:

How does the pod fit is it clips or self adhesive tape?

Did you have to pay any import duty tax?

Can you get the gauges with a green back light?

Cheers
