Default Weak radio reception

Hi guys,

I have a blob sti. The radio reception on the previous head unit was fine. I had my new head unit put in and the reception is very very poor on all stations (radio 1, 2, 3, 4 plus others). I have checked all connections and everything is fine. Head unit works perfectly.

Any suggestions?

some head units have a built in amplifier to boost signal. Halfords sell one for about £10

Cheers.

This head unit has been fine in other cars though so I don't think it's that.

Make sure the blue or blue/white power aerial wire is connected as this is used to power the already built in amplifier near the rear screen.

Like Don says, in the stereo loom there should be a blue cable split with bullet connectors, make sure they're connected, this powers the Scooby's built in radio amplifier.

you need to connect to connect the blue 12v accessory wire on the stereo to the white wire on the cars loom this powers the radio amplifier, always happens when changing head units!
