Dash mounted clock MY02
#1
Anyone know how to take this thing off ? I have a slight rattle underneath and want to investigate.
Sounds like something working loose like the cubbby box lid hinges did in my previous MY99.
Bloody British roads, they shake our cars to bits

Before taking it off try squirting a little bit of WD40 around the clock face where it sits in the cubby hole. My clock used to rattle and squeak but after a bit of WD40 nothing at all.
Nathan..

Err, I'd be a bit concerned about spraying too much WD40 into that joint as any excess might head straight into the top of the radio ...
To remove the clock unit you need to take out the unit that holds the air vents. Do this by removing the two screws that retain the cup holder, remove that then the unit with the airvents just pulls out. Unplug the lead that controls the hazards and you'll now have access to the underside of the clock unit. It has two stiff plastic clips at the front and two tabs at the rear. Push back the plastic clips and the unit pops out.
Hope that helps.

Duncan, thanks for that mate. Much easier than I expected and avoids an unnecessary trip to the dealer who will probably not find the damn rattle. I might try a bit of PTFE spray first though.
Thanks
