Question

I have a MY97 (older dash) and I want to fit a Boost gauge.

I have looked at various A pillar pods (graham goode, demon tweeks etc) they all seem very big?

I went to pick up a second hand scoobymaina pod (which I thought was the right size) it did not fit my dash. The shape seem fine on the MY2000 which it was fitted to, but on my dash it did not fit.

I am after alternative ideas where other scoobynetters have fitted them. I am thinking of the heater vent next to the drivers door, my only worry is in the winter when the heaters are on it might stop the gauge working. Has anybody else fitted a gauge here?

Thanks

Victoria

I tried removing one of the vents and fitting a boost gauge, but it would not go far enough in to look good because of the piping for the vents. I know someone who has made a prototype 3 gauge assembly that fits in instead of the vents, but he hasn't finished it yet.

I ended up just getting a Demon Tweaks pillar pod.

Thumbs up

TIM Turbo Boost Guage, about £23 from Burton Performance. Tel. 020 8554 2281. 52mm guage pod TIM039 from Revolution. Tel. 0191 477 0785 Cost £6.50. Burton may also stock it.
I mounted using twin sticky black tape (or Velcro) on the top of the dash/coping,in front of the steering wheel & slightly to the right. It was very neat & illumination wires & pipe to manifold went into the air vent on top of dash between the guage & right hand A- Pillar.
Hope this helps.

It's actually off the car because the boost gauge is knacked, I should get the new gauge and get it fitted this weekend. I'll post a pic as soon as it's done.

I spent some time cutting away at the pod until it was a perfect fit, I also ended up screwing it onto the a pillar trim and cutting a hole for the pipe/cable which is hidden by the pod.

For the money you cannot go wrong. The two wires and single small bore pipe can be wrapped or better still sleeved with the type of rubber sleeve used by auto electricians. Also pod can be moved closer to vent if that is an issue.

Can someone give me idiot proof step by step instructions on how to post and illuminate in blue to go to automatically please?

Question

Tempting as it's super cheap but still think even thou about £60 i'd prefer the A frame mounted un as it's much cleaner looking Wood u need 2 drill holes in the plastic to get the wires 2 where they need 2b presumably thou?
Harvey if u mean how'd u post a link just click on edit message on any 1 which has it & u can see how it's dun but basically {url=the addy http etc etc}wotever u want it 2 appear as{/url} but use [] instead of {} er if that's wot u were asking although i have been known 2 go off on 1
So those links so far r:

Cool

Bit bulky for my liking
I'm thinking of maybe doing this un
for the oil temp gauge although i kud do the SPA dual oil temp & pressure guage rather than having a dual pod thing although i must confess i dont much like the look of it being digital n all so i may stick with a single white needle type oil temp dial
& can always use this un off scoobyparts & stick it in the middle of the dash & stick wotever gauge i fancy, hmm cunning if it does look a tad cheap But then it does only cost £8.23 or sumin Opinions please
Si
