Default Flocked parts. How long does the flocking last??

As above I`m considering getting a flocked dash, but how long is it expected to last??
If its a few years then fair enough, but if its less then I may look into covering the dash in something else.

Anyone know how long it lasts, or anything else you can cover the dash in??

My gauge pod was done 2 years ago and still looks good. I guess it depends how much wear the parts will get. A flocked steering wheel probably won't last more than a few weeks.

Was considering doing my dash, but may look into a fabric covering and using upholstery glue, worst case is I knacker a second hand dash.

No reason it should not last as long as it has been prepared properly and an industrial electrostatic machine has been used to apply the flock.

Thats gone straight over my head lol.

From your experience how durable is it? I mean I'm not expecting it to last forever, but what's it like to live with, and clean etc etc.

I don't know of anyone around by me who has had it done, or got some, so after as much info as I can.

I've never had any issue with it not lasting. I think it depends how you keep it clean. You should be able to brush it as long as its a soft brush.

Per facelift are the most awkward to change the rest are actually very easy.

Feel free to pm me your number if you want a chat about it.

Thats my problem mine is a prefacelift lol.

But I rarely clean my car, so a soft brush to wipe and dirt/dust off is fine with me.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, may be ripping my dash apart soon then lol.
Just what to do with the heater control surround and vents, carbon dipped, or something more funky???

As for ripping a dashboard apart I did this to my old Vectra.

From this, manual aircon.

My dash top is fine, the other bits such as the centre console I've had about a year and bits are starting to lift/peel off already
