This bar does just unbolt because I removed the whole lot to take two mountain bikes to scotland last year. Whether or not a split seat would fit though is a question I would like to know as well though. The "solid" rear bulk head is just some covered hard board and plastic sheeting.
Edited to say mine is a 93 WRX also

Hope this helps

Question

I've got a MY93 WRX wouldn't mind havin' a split fold rear seat. From what im told the WRXs have a solid rear bulk head, would this prevent the split fold seat being used?

Anyone know for sure if this is possible or not?

Cheers,

Tony.

Unhappy

Err!! Yes!!!

If you have a solid rear bulkhead you will not be able to use a slit fold rear seat. Sorry!

Edited: 'cos I read the rest of the post.

Thumbs up

Guys
When I fitted my rear strut brace to my 94 WRX I had to take the rear seat out. It had a steel box section bar which ran across the back of the seat. If this is the solid rear bulk head then as far as I can remember it can be un-bolted.

So I would think the rear seats can be swapped.

Cheers

You're spot on, it is a 2 door but the rear seats are the same be it 2 or 4 door. The point is the 2 door type-r has a solid rear bulk head, therefore if the P1 has a split fold seat then the solid rear bulk head does not stop it being fitted.
