Default Which harness?

Does anyone have harnesses fitted to standard sti bucket seats? (2003). Just looking for some for track use and wondering which will go with the single seat hole. Ta

Have you got the proper bar. If so as far as I know any 5 point harness fits.

No haven't as yet. I was just wondering whether it would be different as the seat only has the one hole as opposed to the two holes on other Recaros. Would like to fit it with standard seats rather than replacing them.

Thumbs up

I use TRS 4 point lightweight quick release for trackdays as they are easy to put in/out on the day. Eye bolts replace the normal bolts which can be left in. The strap itself is wide for a nice fit and fir through the one hole in the seat.

I have a 2007 Hawkeye so STI seats with one access hole in the head rest bit.

Excellent thanks. So I take it, any harnesses can be used with that one hole then? Not restricted to any particular sort.

thanks

Personally I wouldnt use harnesses with standard seats.

They arnt designed to take the downward force from the shoulder straps in a bad crash, the seat will fail and bend in half, taking you with it!

id agree here, iv seen standard seats fail in crashes on track with harnesses used, id rather spend the cash on good quality seats and harnesses they wouldnt take too long to fit and remove the day before / after trackdays

Plus if the seat doesn't fail and the roof comes in due to no cage then you can't move your head out of the way as you can with diagonal oem belts.

I have oem for the road and for track days I put in a removable cage with harnesses
