Changing seats for STI items but completely baffled as to how unplug the connectors under the seat???? Wouldn't think I was a sodding technician
First pic is the connector, second is the plug on the STI seat which looks different? Don't even know what it's there for!

Any help appreciated...

Could be, that can happen when the seats are out.
Take it out, put it on a soft surface, and line 'em up.
It has always been my understanding that ALL seats fit the same. And those look JUST like the one I had out last week
Here's a tip though: The bolts are made of an alloy of some cheese or other and thus, VERY soft. When you put them back in, DO wiggle the seat about until EACH one can be turned almost right in BY HAND. This is vitally important, failure so to do CAN lead very easily to the bolt threads stripping

Trying fitting seats from a 1989 Jaguar XJ-S into a 1982 XJ-s...Will they fit - nope. holes drilled in different places. That required some inventive bracketry to fit

And yes the runners move independantly of each other when the seat is out of the car. Its just a case of pulling the lever and sliding the runner 'til the holes align.
Of course, they are now a classic........

So i think that was the issue, didn't get time to re-try today.. new issue though, there's no connector in the passenger seat for the seat belt plug to slot into to?? anyone had this prob too?
When i put P1 seats in my bug it took a fair amount of adjusting the runners and as mentioned before make sure you can get the bolts in with your fingers before doing them up, i had to get my old man to sit on the seats for them to be done up finger tight.
deffo the runners m8 I thought the same thing till I adjusted them lol they say 2008 will fit classic so it sounds like they haven't changed the fittings. just have a play about they will plop into place.
