Default Help required, car in bits..

Changing seats for STI items but completely baffled as to how unplug the connectors under the seat???? Wouldn't think I was a sodding technician

First pic is the connector, second is the plug on the STI seat which looks different? Don't even know what it's there for!

Any help appreciated...

It,s for the airbags in the seat. Are you swapping wrx seats for sti seats? If so then you need some resistors for the airbag circuit.

I think they're for the seat belt warning lights? the light came on when i finally disconnected them?

Bigger problem though, i offered the sti seats up and the runners don't fit my car?!! aaaagghh.. lol do the seats have to slide onto my existing runners? if so how do i remove the seats? nothings straight forward is it..

They are reckoned to be a direct fit. Think about it: would Subaru REALLY make a different floorpan for the two cars? Nope, I don't think so either

Offer 'em up, wiggle to suit.

Just had a eureka moment.. i wonder if it's as simple as the runners not being equal in length? i.e ones adjusted further forward than the other?

Could be, that can happen when the seats are out.

Take it out, put it on a soft surface, and line 'em up.

It has always been my understanding that ALL seats fit the same. And those look JUST like the one I had out last week

Here's a tip though: The bolts are made of an alloy of some cheese or other and thus, VERY soft. When you put them back in, DO wiggle the seat about until EACH one can be turned almost right in BY HAND. This is vitally important, failure so to do CAN lead very easily to the bolt threads stripping

Wish that logic followed suit with other cars.

Trying fitting seats from a 1989 Jaguar XJ-S into a 1982 XJ-s...Will they fit - nope. holes drilled in different places. That required some inventive bracketry to fit

And yes the runners move independantly of each other when the seat is out of the car. Its just a case of pulling the lever and sliding the runner 'til the holes align.

When i put P1 seats in my bug it took a fair amount of adjusting the runners and as mentioned before make sure you can get the bolts in with your fingers before doing them up, i had to get my old man to sit on the seats for them to be done up finger tight.
