Default Resetting rev needle

Ive just installed a set of lockwood dials in my95 wrx. Problem is the rev counter is sitting at 2500 rpm when i turn the egnition on and then when i start it it goes to 3000rpm. I didnt take the neddle off the temp gauge and its not budging at all.

Jeez, if I had £1 for every post I've read where someone has knackered his clocks mucking about with Lockwood dials.

You can TRY to gently place the needle back where it should be. This MIGHT involve running the car with the glass OFF the clocks, while doing the job.

As for the temperature gauge, have a look at it's spindle/shaft/bit the needle is on the end of, andf make sure it's NOT in contact with the Lockwood backing. Gauges are not very strong and can VERY easily be held back.

Your last resort is a new set of clocks And try plasma dials, they are better than Lockwood.
