Default prosport gauges

Hi ive just brought some prosport gauges a boost and oil temp need help with wiring i have got an idea but a little confused as the gauges only have a red, black and orange wire the oil temp has one extra green wire .

so i understand the red = 12v power
black = earth
green = sender
heres the problem i have read about there being a white wire on the gauges which you connect for white dial face and orange wire for an amber/red face for night driving. I dont have a white wire and when i connect the orange wire to power it only goes slightly dimmer they are second hand gauges so not sure how old they would be anyone got any ideas please thanks .

Orange wire is to be connected to the ignition so that they come on when you turn the ignition on and the White is to be connected to the bright switch (on a classic) so that when you turn the lights on they also light up.

The gauges will drain your battery if the ignition (orange) is wired up to a perminent live.

I ended up wiring them to a switch power so only come on when ignition is on . They just dont change colour or anything when lights are turned on. They seem to be working now so that will do ha ha.
Thanks for reply
