Default help with double din head unit please

I have recently purchased a 1998 version 4 uk turbo. This car has a single din stereo in it is there any way of converting this car to hold a double din unit as I have a kenwood unit from my old car that I would like to fit.

cheers

Matt

Could swap radio surround from an import one of the same age. That will be double din. Not sure if its possible but I did the reverse on my my99 jdm. Put a uk single din facia in to replace the double din. Had to make a few ajustments.

thanks

You're obviously not reading it at all.

All parts are in this thread: https://www.scoobynet.com/ice-2/1401...-i-did-it.html
This is the actual post on the thread: https://www.scoobynet.com/showpost.p...13&postcount=5
and on the next page, here is the picture the part numbers refer to: https://www.scoobynet.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=32

Now, apart from buying the parts and coming round your house to install it, there is not much help you can get

Hi Joey thanks for the reply the pictures are not working for me I thought this was maybe because ot was an old thread but I assume they are working for you. I can't get the pics on my pc or laptop at home or my iphone. Can you suggest the best place to get the parts from are there any good breakers who would know what I'm on about when I ring and be fairly priced as I say i'm new to this also anyone in the midlands who has done this fancy lending me a hand in exchange for some beer tokens

Hi Joey thanks for your help have managed to get your pics working problem with my pc sorry for appearing so dense. I have gone to the site you suggested. Having never used this company can you just answer a couple of questions please. How do I know that it is definately a double din surround that I am ordering or is that all they had in the us hence all a us site would sell and also any idea how long they take with delivery. Finally will I need a iso connector for my car, it currently has the stock system. Thanks a lot

I never bought the parts from 1st subaru. I got my double DIN from Grade A Subaru, as mentioned in my thread. http://www.gradea-subaru.co.uk/

Can't say anything about the ISO adapter, as that depends on the head unit going in, not the Double Din Surround.
I had a cheap double din Hu from china, I had to re-wire that with an ISO plug, because I didn't want to mess with the stock wiring.

Def best bet is to find one in a scrapyard and get everything for a complete swap - got everything surround, brackets and the middle bit of the dash for £20!

I've been to loads of scrap yards in my life, and never seen an Impreza in one, ever!
Well actually I saw a early Sport, but nothing decent on it.
