Default Switch on top of steering wheel column (classic)

Hi all its my 1st thread so here goes.

I have an impreza classic uk 2000 my00

Whats the little switch on top of the steering wheel column?

Probably so simple but i have not even looked round my car properly yet as i have only owned my 1st scooby for a week.

Be careful not to leave it switched with the red warning showing. Flat battery results.

+1 As they always tend to switch it on and leave it on when you go to the local car wash.

I knocked mine "ON" when removing the instrument cluster in broad daylight, so didn't notice...........until the next day when none of my Defis would respond. Turns out Defis don't under 10V
