I have noticed in interior photos of the New Impreza a LCD panel in the speedo.

Exactly - it has two tripmeters, but both are manually reset.
So, the simple answer is no it doesn't!
Anyway, would you really want to know the average consumption?

Speedking, i bet you feel time is slowly ticking by waiting on delivery of your new toy but at least it should be here when the weathers nice.

My 205 has a clock, unfortunately a calendar would be more use for the wait
