Hi my aircon in my 04 wagon has just started making a hissing noise from what sounds to be behind the dash/glove box area.
Can anyone shed some light on this, common problem, or just a case of looking for leaks?

Is it just a hiss? or is there a knock sound aswell?

 

Just a hissing, a/c doed not seen to cut in. Im guessing because of low-no gas.

 

Mines makes a noise now and again but only notice it when the music is off, I think its just the gas going through the expansion valve as mine is working fine.

 

Both mine and my dads blob STI's make a hiss where you describe, so i wouldnt worry about it.
