Dan, you will also wish to fit a resistor (3.3ohm iirc) to the seat airbag connector otherwise your airbag warning light will stay on.

Whilst it will only advisory be an advisory come an MOT, I know how fussy you are and driving with that light on will be worse that getting it wet

I can't see photobucket pics in work, they're blocked, but I'm guessing you want something like this...

You need to consider whether you want something adjustable or not as some of these more radical seat will only take a side mount and not adjustable bottom mount runners.

I though all of the blobs had airbags in them, which is why I was going for the bucket style Bug WRX seats and not the later blob ones.

Check this out, it seems they need to be custom mounted, but I may well be wrong.

Are those seats legal in a road car. I was told by Recaro that they were not because of the side veiw being blocked,, hence I`ve gone for the Sparco S-light in my blob.

Subframes were got from GPR at Silverstone, Sparco ones from Italy and were a pain to fit. Look on GPR `s website under seats and the frames and side plates are there.

The side brackets are universal.Pictures of them are further down the page on the gpr website and they are a stock item. The subframe was for my 04 blobeye, specific and ordered from Italy. Took about 10 days to deliver. I removed the seats from the floor, runners included and the subframe is fixed, so when the seats were fitted, they were fixed in place. The only way to adjust is to undo the nuts and bolts but as I am the only one driving it, (apart from David at api) its fixed in place for me. Hope this helps a bit..

Was it hard to do? Yes. Only because the subframes didnt quite line up with the holes in the floor. I had to "encourage" them a bit. After that it was no problem. Worth it in the end....

I had that with some custom Corbeau runners for my cavalier. I had to get my mate to sit in the seats to get them line up enough to get some bit on the bolts.

Yes. I went to gpr hoping to just get them "off the shelf". They had the side brackets, cause they had the seats in the showroom, but the subframes were ordered over the phone later that day. I tried to see if I could use the adjustable subframes on the origional seats to work but they didnt.(Too wide apart) So I phoned gpr, ordered and paid and they arrived about 10 days later to my front door. This is the link(hopefully) Buy S-Light Race Seat - Race Seats at GPR

I have seat this in my car - we used the original STi runners, and fixed the seat in the best position for me (short-****!).

Upgraded the seat bolts (on the runners) to the ones with nylon inners as these stay tighter for longer.

You will need a harness as standard seat belt will not pass around head bolster.

Sideways vision is restricted, but it means you take a little longer at junctions.

Slightly easier to live with on a day to day basis:
