Sat Nav into New Age Clock pod
Has anyone tried to fit an aftermarket Widescreen Sat Nav (Garmin / Becker / Tom Tom etc) into a dashtop 'pod' ?.
I quite fancy having a go at this and wondered , before making anything, whether or not its been done before.
I was thinking along the lines of the 1 series BMW style screen / pod arrangement (on an i-Drive car) which I have to say looks pretty good and with a bit of time and effort it may be possible to make something similar....
Having removed the clock pod it looks possible that the sat nav screen could be lowered into the dash by 20 to 30mm so it wouldn't be so intrusive for forward vision but would still be reachable and visible.
If this has been done can someone point me in the right direction. I've used the site search but found nothing.
I want it to look much more like an OE fitment than the usual stuck on the screen type of things.
