Default Blue speedo dials

Has any one changed their clocks from green to blue glow in a UK turbo?

If so can you post up some pics and maybe a bit of info on how you did it

its easy to do,

5x screews around dash suround,
then 4 bigger screews that release the dash/dials,
then unplug the 2 main cabel connections, one either side. think their may be a third cabel in their too.

take out the o/e bulbs and replacde with blue led ones, then revese the process, making sure you have the led in the correct way round..

How can this work..? Bulbs use 12volts each and LED's use 3,3-3,5v... I think it turns in to green in some point before it burns out.

They use 6v leds with an in-line resistor to allow them to work on 12v circuits.

Here are my facelift clocks on my99 uk turbo. The leds be a different fitment to the older classics if anyone is wanting info on what leds to buy and where pm me.

Look way better in real life, the shadows do not do the pic justice. No dim needles here. Chuffed.

Clock is easy to see in the light now too

Did the indicators too but dont have pics.

Yep, fairly easy. The controls (I had to undo all the cables under the dash to get enough room to pull the controls out) need to be pulled out to get to the bulbs. Remove bulbs and replace with t5 leds and put back together. Will post a pic up later.

For anyone else searchin for the later classic clocks i sourced my leds through cms.

you will need 4 packs(8 leds) of BT05W2001B05FP and 1 led of BT10W2006B03BP.

My source was cms_sales on e bay. price was around £14 all in iirc.

The just push into the little holders already on the clocks.
