Default RHD to LHD

Hello

I am a new Impreza owner. Since I live in a country that doesnt allow RHD cars to be registered I have to convert it.

Here is my question to you.

Can you help me find people and advice what I need and what I need to consider when doing this task. The mechanical skill is no problem but its my father's so I need to find as much information as possible to help him.

Thank you very much.

Pic of my car(RA v4 v-limited) I HATE the fact I have to make it LHD

ScoobyClinic does it but you will have to provide a LHD car as a donor and it won't be cheap.

Daniel Hrubý also does it.

daniel.hruby@carter.cz

He has done a lot of convertions and i think he's the right men for you but i guess you will have to take the car to the Check Republic. Try to send him a mail.
good luck mate.

I can't even begin to think what this would cost. Wouldn't it be cheaper to SELL the car and buy a LHD? Surely they exist?

They didn't make LHD classic STIs I believe Prodrive converted the ones for rallying.
Would be best getting hold of a damaged LHD turbo and convert it that way.

How is this going? I'm thinking about doing this operation myself and would like to know everything that needs to be swapped.

The things I know about are:
steering rack
dash
pedals
windscreen wipers (complete mechanism)
wiring for lights, repeaters etc.
A/C piping relocation
heating conversion as JDM is digital unit, or changing it for a EUDM unit

How do all the rally people do this operation? Do you swap the whole firewall/bulkhead or do you just drill new holes and weld the old ones?

Do you need to change the airbag wiring looms if you want to keep them? I have airbags on both sides.

I know this is going to cost a lot and be time consuming but I think it would be worth it.

Sounds good. Did you have a complete LHD donor car that you could use parts from? Did your RA have AC and airbags?

Unfortunately not. i just got the parts and some minor things are still missing as we speak. Yes I had the JDM digital AC. The steering wheel was replaced before I got the car so no airbags for me to play

Okay, I called a company here in Sweden and it would probably be something like 3500 euro for the rebuild including parts.

Hi it's www.jobparts.se . Price depends on how much needs to be done, airbags, air condition etc.
