I want to fit an oil temperature gauge. I have got hold of VDO gauge. The problem is how and where do I fit the sender? I have heard of a "sump bung" but how does this work? Is the sump the optimal place for the gauge? Can you put it on a t-piece or similar with the standard oil pressure sender?

Scoobymania sell either a sump bung that replaces the sump plug or a bung that bolts into the block on the no3 cylinder (I think). I have the sump bung and it was approx 20GBP and was a doddle to fit, check out Chiarks website for more info:
