Changing gear lever boot
How can I change my worn gear lever boot on my 98 turbo?
Also my car has a blanking plate where the dash cupholder could be.....
Can I just but one from Subaru and stick it in?
Thanks

not the best of jobs, remove the two screws which hold your grey center console bit on ( the one that's got your mirror switch in ) they have got a plastic cover over each screw inside your armrest. After you have removed the two srews just pull it up there is two clips down at the bottom they won't break but don't be heavy handed, you'll have to mess about getting it over your handbrake. Then you will have to remove your gear surround, that just pulls up too, pull it up and towards the back of the car. then you've got bout eight little rings that hold your gaiter on. just beware you will have to go very steady getting these off because the plastic pins that go though are very weak. Then just reverse the process when done.
Sorry bout the description you'll know what i mean when your doing it
hope that this helps

I need to know this aswell cos I hate the standard gaiter on my 98' Turbo. I also wondered about the cup holder, you would think it should just pop out then fit the new one straight in?????!!!?!?!?!?!
