Does anyone have the same problem?

I have had my MY00 for 3 weeks and the front drivers seat seems to be wearing through already on the base. I have checked to see if my clothing or pocketed items are rubbing but to no avail. I have also adjusted the seat to check that wasn't wrong. Finally I am only 11stone 6, so my size should cause this........

The seat seems to have a netted textured with a blue tint that is wearing through.

Any ideas out there.....I think I might get gunned on this one!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem, and I'm the same weight as you. get down to your dealer and get them to take a look, I got mine replaced after about 11months without a query. Don't take no for an answer.

Mine looked like that all over by the time I got around to seeing the dealer again, but like I said they did replace it, the dealer actually took some photos of it and sent them by snail-mail (can you believe it) to IM, who then authorised the replacment, so don't be fobbed off, cos IM do know that there is a problem!
Good luck.

did they try to make out u had spilled summat on it? the passenger seat looks ok, but the drivers seat base looks awful. also the glovebox never looks like its shut properly( its all wonky when its closed). personally, i think princess' my 95 is better made. all the dealer said was "people dont buy them for the interior"!
maybe true, but does that mean its ok to look a bag of **** within 6 months??

Sure you haven't been eating too many Scooby Snacks? Every fat b@stard I know tell me they're about 11 stone too

I can't see why the dealer won't sort it under warranty for you. I can see the colour in the fabric fading over time, but you should never get holes unless the cars ancient. My old Golf was 7yrs old and the seats were immaculate! But I'm a skinny b@stard

Same problem with the seat back on MY98. Cover is being replaced under warranty this Friday (Lancaster Sevenoaks). It did take a bit of work on my part though.

Well, true to their word, the seat back cover was replaced. Actually, the whole of the seat back was replaced, don't know why but I guess its less labour.

I've just bought a MY99 (dec99) its done 21k
and its from my local main dealer, you reckon they could do anything under the warranty...??
I've not even picked the car up yet but it its the bloster bit on the drivers seat at the side, its a shame as thats the only thing wrong with the whole car...
Thanks for any help!
