My UK Spec MY00 has no individual closures for the heating / ventilation vents. If the fan is on then all 4 are blowing which is a pain as my other half is always wanting the heat whilst I am quietly passing out its so hot.

I have seen pictures of Impreza dashboard vents which have the wheels to shut them off individually. I would be greatful if any one could tell me which models these are in and if it would be easy for me to get a straight swap done?

Cheers

John

May not help much, but Nitosport (http://www.nitosport.co.uk) do a range of interior stuff, and he may be able to give you a definitive answer.

It may be that the pre MY95 had the wheels and the post doesn't, in which case a transplant is rather hard.

It is bloody annoying though.

Good luck!

I have a 93 WRX and the vents, 2 in the middle & 1 each side had a little wheelt type thingy [technical description at its best] that lets you shut them off, I would have thought you could swap them over if need be, Mum's Nissan Bluebird has very similar setup as well.

Unhappy

Thanks for the repies guys, but sadly I wrote my car off on sunday afternoon. Lucky to be in one piece but I don't think I'll be able to afford to insure another Scoob for some time. Atleast I got to briefly own my dream car from new, it died aged 2000 mls. RIP

Thanks for the sympathy. Basically the car lost traction on a country bend that was slippier than I had expected. After a couple of corrections to get back under control the road ran out and the car went into an embankment that rolled it 1 1/2 times (around 50mph??) Miraculously I craweled out unhurt as did my passenger and no-one else was significantly involved. I have been left with an impression that the Subaru was very well put together and saved us some serious injury. I still can't believe the car has gone even though I have visited the wreck to salvage some personal effects. I found a disposible camera in the govebox and took some photos. Once I have got my head around things I will post in the General section with more details.
