Dash warning light - What is it?

Okay, this may have been asked before so I apologise. What is the red warning light that comes on with the ignition lights, the one that looks like a swollen pipe with heat lines rising from the middle?

Ian that's the Cat warning light. Have you just noticed it when turning on the ignition or is it on all the time? If its on constantly then i'd get it checked out.
