Question

We have had subfreezing temperatures for over two weeks. My 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback sits outside. For the past 4 days the AT light has been flashing when I start the car. Could this be from the cold temperature? Should I rush to a mechanic? It doesn't seem to handle any differently will driving and the light doesn't flash at any other time.

Hi

You might want to try this question on the "wrx-auto" list on Egroups -

Lightbulb

Check your AT fluid level, cold causes the fluid to shrink, and it could be just dropping below the low level sensor until it's warmed a little?

Mike.
