Momo do a nice aluminium gearknob - roughly £40 and I think you can get these in Halfords now.

Cheers Chris,
I had a look in Halfords today but I wasn't sure if the standard gaiter would fit to the momo gearknob (the gearknob supplied had a lip which grips the gaiter). If anyones any experience of fitting momo gearknobs let me know.

Yes it will fit but you have to buy the lip to glue into the bottom section of the Momo collar from Graham Goode Racing. Its not cheap at 15 odd quid.

we've got a momo race air leather and only used what came with the ****, so easy to fit also, we have a 94 WRX, whether it's a different set up unsure? only problem we've experienced is it gets rather hot in summer and now I've got an imprint of momo, a bit like the gastapo guy from raiders of the lost arc....

I have the Momo race air leather and can only say that, as i have experienced no such problem in summer (what summer?), that you must be holding your **** too hard/too long

The later cars come with a collapsing leather(?) gaiter and not the plastic self-supporting pyramid ford cortina style one.

Ok where is the best place (cheapest and efficient) to get a Momo Race Air Leather from ... oh no hopefully not Halfords (of Mothercare, Boots fame - always feel I'm getting shafted in there - but then they have saved me on a Sunday so maybe I owe them)

No idea, email usual suppliers or phone around!

Try Jim at Cheam Motors on 020-8394-2263

Just make sure that you dont spend so much time phoning and driving around that you end up costing yourself 30 quid to save a fiver!

Got my Momo from Halfords...
Few pounds more than Demon Tweaks....but then I wanted to fit it that day, not the week after ordering it!

I think they're £51.70 from Demon Tweeks and only about £40-£45 from Halfords.

I've finally bought a Momo Cobra gearknob (aluminium/carbon look)for £40 from Halfords (£38.30 from momovirtualshop.co.uk + delivery, you can view the complete range + steering wheels etc. at this site).
I sawed off the plastic lip from the original **** and superglued it to the base of the new one - this saved me paying £15 from graham goode racing for an attachment which prevents the gaiter flapping about.
As long as I dont yank my **** too hard it should be alright.
Thanks for the replies,
Ste
