Question

Does any one know the theory of operation of the temperature gauge? mine has stopped working and need to know if theres any way of testing it? there is 13v at the dash board
and i am quite sure it is the gauge.
Is the sender for this gauge below the alternator on top of the engine block and can i test it to eliminate it?

Cool

Howdy

By temp gauge.. I assume u mean the water temp...

The sender is horizontally mounted into the main cast water pipe that runs across the top of the block.. under the maniold.

To gain easy access remove your alternator...

You will see two horizontal sensors... one is for the gauge... the other is the electronic stat.

The vertial sender u see under the alternator is the oil pressure sender.

Cheers,

J.
