I hope Im not duplicating the post below, but has anyone fitted Gauges in the gap above radio and below pull out drinks holder on a WRX (MY93).

If so what size do I need (fairly small i guess) and is it necessary to relocate/remove cigarette lighter or ashtray??

Thanks in advance.

Woohoo!!! I have a '94 WRX. I'm glad someone else has a similar model to me.

Er, no, I haven't. I have a blank facia in there with my new Pioneer head unit below that. I didn't even know about the drinks drawer until today when the engineer fitted the stereo. Dumb ***. (Me I mean)

Hi to both of you,

I must say you have vintage year vehicles there!!!

Mine is a 93 WRX also, it took me ages to find a stereo to fit the bleedin thing.

ME TOO ON THE DRINKS HOLDER, had the car for about a month, was watching the guy fit the stereo, I nearly fell over when he casually pulled out the drinks holder!!! :-) So you're not alone pilch.

I havn't had anything done to that section either. Would be very interested in any mods either of you have had though. I am thinking of changing the interior as mine is just a little bit rough. Any ideas?

Cheers

Simon,

I know what you mean about the interior. Mine had an air-freshener on the dash when I got it, and the bloody thing has left a permanent mark. I have a Pioneer DEH-7000P fitted now, and I have a blanking plate on order from my local dealer. I don't know about you guys, but my car has no clock-like thingy, so I was considering cutting the blanking plate and fitting a large-screen digital clock, maybe dual-purpose device.

You gotta admit it guys, having an older model adds a 'classic' aspect to the genre! As mine is black, I'm considering a stealth approach; quiet but powerful exhaust/tuned pipe combo, blacked windows.... Maybe.

Hi All,

I also have a 94 WRX. So can I join your club ;-)

Mine is also black (gold alloys) and am also considering the 'stealth' method.

Can't work out is black or black chrome wheels would work though. Thoughts ?

Cheers

Lee (leestud, this WILL get confusing!),

I am collecting my gold alloys tonight. I have a set of 15" graphite/grey genuine wheels if you wanna check how they look. I work here in Bracknell if you wanna pop over and have a look. You can guess where I work from my email address! Email me if you wanna see 'em.

Richie,

Did you get the guages fitted? I have 2x bays left below the drinks holder, and was thinking of making a plate myself, then mounting a full-size boost guage in there (they are only £42). This works out cheaper than forking out £210 for the small dials!
