Question

Im totally p1ssed off with stuff sliding around my boot...

where can I get a boot 'tray' that will stay put and protect the boot from the bits and bobs in my boot???

I know they do them for new age cars.. and classic wagons.. never seen any for classic 4dr's.. is it the same as the one for a wagon?

thanks..

I removed the carpet, and got some thick rubber which has little pyramids moulded into it, laid the carpet on top, and cut round it, I now have a rubber boot mat!

Tut Tut Mate

What are you playing at, having stuff in the boot of your car in the first place

Or is that why you are having the extra power, so you can keep up with me, and have a boot full of stuff

oooh them's santa pod enducing words mate..
I'll be seeing you on the blackstuff!
be afraid your dawes wont save you then mate.. lol

anyway- if you lost half your tart mods you'd gain a bit more power!!

back to the point: - anyone know where I can get an OE or decent replacement tray???
I don't fancy cutting boggo' vinyl with no 'edging'

btw- when i went up the strip last time with chris- I had a huge freezer/picnic bag, spare boots for all three of us, coats, jack, digital tyre inflator, a blanket and the spare wheel AND rear seats
weight saving?? whats that then?

next time I'll dump it all in YOUR car and my times might be a little better!

Cool

Buy a bog standard plastic box from somewhere like netto for about 50p,then get some self adhesive velcro about 1 inch wide and stick the rough half of the strip to the underside of your chosen box.Throw away the other part of the velcro, then place your box in the boot anywhere you want and you will find it will withstand about 4Gs.
Well at least it works for me.

bobcat; good plan mate...
altho the carpet itself slides around on top of the 'spare' cover.. so i would just have the box sliding around ontop of the carpet on top of the ply spare cover..

does that make sense?

maybe velcro on the ply- and the underneath of the carpet- AND on the box ;D

I use a non slip mat from Halfords cut to size ((£8 I think) and a large plastic box for smaller items. Nothing will slide on this mat and bigger items can be placed in the boot corner with the plastic box put diagonally across them to stop them moving. Works a treat

The OEM boot tray for a classic wagon also fits the 4dr. Comes with a non-slip mat that goes in it. Have both in my loft...
