Question

Hi, I've searched the archives with no success so far. Does anyone know where I can get an EL kit for my import with 180mph speedo. I contacted Nomad racing but he said that they can only cater for pre-98 UK cars.

Can anyone help??

Cheers....

If you like silver dials keep an eye out on ebay

this is the set I got http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ory=36681&rd=1(thought they were white from the pic but got sent silver appently what was advettised) but he usually has a set for sale

this is the only set I could find anywhere I will try and post pics when I have got round to fitting them in the next couple of weeks

I was after EL dials rather than just coloured facias - coloured ones seem easy enough to get hold of as you say through Ebay or Lockwood dealers.

The set you got are the same as mine and i think they look great. The only problem is you have 5 plugs and only 4 sockets to fit them in. Quick chop with a pair of pliers and rejoin with both sets of wires and it's easy sorted. Got pic's of working but can't post up.

Unfortunately those dials are different to the ones in my STi - my rev counter and speedo are the same size. The guges I was after had the whole face glow EL at night. I'll keep looking.....

Now they look interesting. Have you wired yours up to 12v yet just to see what colour they go? I'd be very interested to see some pics as and when you do it. Being EL, can you just fit them straight over the top of the standard dials?

Cheers....

Yes I did look at the link you posted - appologies for not realising that they are the same gauges ...guess you must think I'm dumb!! They are still not what I'm after as I want the EL ones as per my original post ie. ones that light up white/green over the whole of the gauge face.

Huxley - thanks for the link. I had already had email with Nomad before posting here about whether he could supply dials. Unfortunately he only has kits for UK cars and I need one for a MY97 STi import - I guess he will make a kit, but only if there's enough interest. It's a shame because the dials are exactly what I'm after.

Thanks again......
