Took the plastic handbrake surround off to clean it today and when I disconnected the mirror control switch block there is another block just hanging around under there, quite a bit smaller than the mirror control block and has 2 cables coming out, anyone any ideas what it is for, there are no other switches or anything. My car is a 1998 UK turbo wagon.

Could be the wiring for the JDM car's folding mirrors.

 

Could be the ejector seat or front machine guns

But more likely the folding mirrors or perhaps the heating element!
