can someone tell me how to get the gear **** off, and the leather bit as well off a bug eye.

If its like a clasic scoob you just unscrew it.

and the leather gaiter??

Hold the gaitor in place and screw the **** off, it will still be holding the gaitor, just pull it off gently and your done.
If your replacing the gaitor itself then I guess that your'll need to remove the whole plastic section.
