Hi,

How do I remove the A-Pillar on my STi7.

Are there any 'hidden' clips that need pushing to release it ?

Just be ruthless and pull. Just be carefull if your alarm sensor is built in to the pillar. All that holds it in are a few clips.

Thanks Steve,

On the subject of the alarm sensor....

Can the sensor be easily removed from the pillar, whilst keeping it connected.

Its just that I have a dual pod pillar to fit but want to put the alarm sensor back on the new pod, with the minimum of fuss.

Don't know mate. My car is a Euro import and the alarm sensor was hooked over the top of the pillar.

OK,

So I yanked at the pillar and it did indeed come off.

I can see that the Sigma alarm sensor is a normal pair of cable. I now need to disconnect the sensor (ie, cut the cable, put a longer cable on it and reconnect) so I can move the sensor onto my new J-Spec dual pod pillar.

right,

So today I went to my local car hi-fi/alarm dealer, and told them I wanted to move the sigma sensor. I said I'd like to cut and extend the cable.

mmmmmmmm, can't do that they say. The cable is shielded and you might get problems.

So, I only want to extend it by a few inches to give me some room for moving onto the new pillar.

What problems might I expect then if I add in a few inches of cable ?
