Oh dear, not really what I wanted to hear as I've just ordered one.
I decided against spraying as you wouldn't get the brushed effect. Oh well time will tell It's only £60 down the drain!!!!!!!!!!

bttt

Please somebody tell me that they've bought one of these kits and that they are well worth the money. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered and I'm hoping it's not a load of old tat.

Are they that bad that no one will admit to wasting 60 squid??

Well I did.
m8 believe me when I say they don't look like brushed ally, more like the stuff you make wine gums out of(eh!).

Yeah - I also got one of these - bag of rubbish - only leaving the vent ones on for now until they really pee me off and I pull them off. Save your money - does anybody know if real metal ones are available as replacements?

I got one of these - very naff when you see it in the packaging, BUT, not that bad on the car - I have little neon lights which light up the strips at night.

Apply them properly and you shouldn't have any probs....

Akshay67,

Thanks for some positive response. Although no offense m8 I'm not sure I share the taste of someone who has got neon lights anywhere on their car - but fair play each to his\her own.

Thumbs up

LOL - the neon lights actually look better in the day (when they are off) as the lights themselves are made from REAL brushed aluminium!

Glad u didn't take offence.

I think that's the same gear **** as mine MOMO air race? Although mines half Alloy, which to be honest doesn't look like alloy either.

By the way I think the zip is to take the seat covers off but haven't tried mine either as I have a habit of trashing stuff too.

BTTT 2 see if there are any(!) other positive comments on this high quality (Read: high priced) dash kit - It still hasn't arrived so can't judge for myself.

Please somebody say something nice

Well the pre 98 version looks pretty good from the photo's

However..... my MY99 kit has now arrived and it's....it's... it's going straight back again.
If nothing else you get nearly naff all for £60, I would only be happy to pay about £20 for what amounts to a few thin strips of wine gum covered dash highlights.

This is only my opinion and it has been said it looks better once fitted but I'm not risking throwing £60 down the drain and ending up with a naffer interior than I've got.

So what to do? Any other dash kits or replacement dash pieces available with a brushed ally look?

Mate, you're better of painting the dash etc - I'm trying to work out how to take it all apart and then I need the time to do it.

The entire center vents and console on my pics are sprayed m8, its easy to do, its just the small piece at the bottom and the outer vent surrounds that use the superb brushed alu wine gums...

Well it looks like I'm going to have to go down the spray it yerself route.

Just worried because I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to spraying things.

Ok so what's the best paint to use?
How do I get the dash to bits?
How many coats?
What about laquer?
Anyone want to do it for me?
