Dirty mark on dash, any ideas?

Question

As above on the airbag above the glovebox (sti8). Tried soap and water, made it better but you can still see it. Any body got any ideas on what to use on it as I don't want to use something to harsh, chemical wise and make it worse! Think the mark is waxoyl/grease type thing!

forgot to mention, will leave small white residue, clean with standard polish, worked on mine

Ended up using white spirits and a tooth brush gently!! Worked a treat, thanks for the tips.
